Reading Output Channel Values on Input Channels

Been struggling with this problem for a few days now. Have set up the input channel the same way as in the demo so that it reads off an output channel. I presumed that if a value/command was entered in the output channel, then the value would show up on the input channel if it was set for that data type. However this hasn’t been the case, I have tried using formulas to read the value of the command and this still hasn’t worked. See the print screens attached for how i have set up the channels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
