ParticipantI have a machine that communicates to a windows PC via OPC-DA. The windows PC has an OPC server on it called OCIF. I want to get that OPC data to another computer on the network. Should I only install Communicator on the OPC-DA computer?

It’s enough to install Communicator and Agent to that computer. The Agent service is needed to upload the project and restart Communicator.

MikhailModeratorPerhaps, you need a central Rapid SCADA instance to collect data from all PCs.

ParticipantRapidscada will not run on a WindowsXP machine correct?

ParticipantOne last question. My computer has FSGateway running on it. Can I connect to it using Rapidscada to access the OPC data on that machine?

ParticipantJust wanted to say thank you. I was able to get your software to recognize an OPCUA server and its all working now. My next question is, if I want to work on an project on one PC and then copy it over to another PC how do I do that? I have a laptop I do all my programming on and want to program on it. But then take the project to another computer and get it running on that computer.

Please create a separate topic for that question.January 27, 2026 at 4:00 am #17601liuhb2
ParticipantWhile testing the conversion from OPC DA to OPC UA, I encountered an issue where an error occurs if I do not install the OPC Core Components Redistributable (x64) 3.00.108. However, my production environment only supports 32-bit systems. So, how can I configure Rapid SCADA to use the runtime of OPC Core Components Redistributable (x86) 3.00.108 instead? Error code is 0x80040154

MikhailModeratorThere is a chance that it is possible, but no one has tried.
Try to download and install .NET x86 and 32-bit version of OPC Core Components.
Did you install “OPC Core Components Redistributable (x86) 3.00.108.msi” ?January 28, 2026 at 7:22 am #17606liuhb2
ParticipantAfter installing “OPC Core Components Redistributable (x86) 3.00.108.msi” and “windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.22-win-x86.exe”, when starting RapidAdmin, I receive a prompt indicating that the x64-bit .NET runtime environment needs to be installed. Is it because RapidAdmin is x64-bit, so the 64-bit library is required? Is there a way to configure it to use the x86 library? Or are there any other solutions? Thank you very much.

MikhailModeratorI suggest to configure a project on a modern x64 machine, and then upload the project on the x86 machine. In this case, the Administrator app is not needed on x86.
