In the change notes, I saw that with the latest Version, there are changes in the database. How can I update my existing configuration (which is 5.5.2) to 5.8.0?
I think I can check and update the configuration files for server and communicator myself if there are changes, but are there any other things to consider?March 5, 2020 at 11:45 am #6570roskaParticipantOK, now I found the answer in the anouncement of 5.7 that the procedure is the same also for 5.8.
March 5, 2020 at 3:08 pm #6571MikhailModeratorThat’s right.
March 5, 2020 at 3:43 pm #6578roskaParticipantThe last point of the update instruction says: Download the existing configuration into the new project by Administrator.
But how? Can I do this from the same machine (download configuration from localhost)?
I tried, but I get an error: Unable to login – invalid username or password.

Do I need to update when I am very happy with the setup that I have.
I have version 5.5.2 running. It even runs when I have to do a re-boot of windows 8.1 and I re-started my other programs yesterday, but forgot to click on Administrator in my Start menu. When I clicked on it today, the incandescent light bulb shows up in my Taskbar, and all of the data was being collected and displayed even though I thought they wouldn’t be.March 23, 2020 at 7:29 am #6643MikhailModeratorThis is confusing. The Server and Communicator services of Rapid SCADA starts automatically when Windows starts. They don’t need Administrator to be opened.
