In the change notes, I saw that with the latest Version, there are changes in the database. How can I update my existing configuration (which is 5.5.2) to 5.8.0?
I think I can check and update the configuration files for server and communicator myself if there are changes, but are there any other things to consider?

OK, now I found the answer in the anouncement of 5.7 that the procedure is the same also for 5.8.

The last point of the update instruction says: Download the existing configuration into the new project by Administrator.

But how? Can I do this from the same machine (download configuration from localhost)?

I tried, but I get an error: Unable to login – invalid username or password.

OK I think I got it running. For some reason, it seems like the basedat files on this machine were corrupted, but after I copied them from the working linux system, it worked.

Similar situation can occur if you change ScadaAdmin password. In this case, export the User table to user.dat and copy to the server manually.

The last point of the update instruction:

    https://yadi.sk/i/CIcov9Xjbha-NQ

says: “Download the existing configuration into the new project by Administrator.”

But how? Ist this even possible from the same machine? I tried, but I get an error: Unable to login, invalid username or password.

This is confusing. I don’t see any “change notes” anywhere.
Do I need to update when I am very happy with the setup that I have.
I have version 5.5.2 running. It even runs when I have to do a re-boot of windows 8.1 and I re-started my other programs yesterday, but forgot to click on Administrator in my Start menu. When I clicked on it today, the incandescent light bulb shows up in my Taskbar, and all of the data was being collected and displayed even though I thought they wouldn’t be.

    See Version history.

The Server and Communicator services of Rapid SCADA starts automatically when Windows starts. They don’t need Administrator to be opened.
