Add schemes to a page the same way as pictures

Would it be possible to introduce a new feature similar to how pictures are handled now, but instead of pictures it links and displays another scheme?
With the fill/zoom/scale function that is in place for picture, it would be real easy to use it as a faceplate

Do you mean reusing scheme parts?

yeah, kind of.
I was thinking it would use/display the whole scheme inside a container/frame, similar to a picture/textbox

There is a frame component in Extra Scheme Components Plugin.
We plan to improve schemes in the future.
