I am sorry that I have to bother you to ask this question. My Rapid SCADA installation has been working very well for many months now, but my Linksys router stopped working on several occasions, so I replaced it with a D-Link router. The only things that do not work are Rapid SCADA and Powerconfig from Siemens. I stopped using the latter when I finally got Rapid SCADA to work.
The Sentron PAC3200 is still working, but no communication exists to my router.
    Please help.

Is the meter in the same local network as Rapid SCADA?

Yes, all is the same as when I first got Rapid SCADA to work for me. Just a new router. I believe the router is blocking, so should I open a port for the meter in the router software?

I tried to get the router to open the DHCP address for the PAC3200, but it is not in the same local network. My PC and router are in 192.168.0 and my PAC3200 meter is at 192.168.1.
However, it was working before with the old router.
Is there a way to make it work?

Sorry, but I got help from Siemens, and changed the IP address of the PAC3200 meter so that it would be in the range of the DHCP of my router that has the third number group a “0” instead of a “1”.
Then I had to get Rapid SCADA to communicate with that address. It wasn’t easy, but it’s done!

I wish to add further information on this non communication issue that I seem to have occasionally. Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2020, I ran ccleaner to get rid of some crap. I also allowed AVG free to be installed and run. This caused Rapid SCADA to stop communicating with the PAC3200 meter. I couldn’t get it to communicate including powerconfig from Siemens.
I woke up this morning with the idea to do a re-boot of the entire Winblows OS, did that and started Rapid SCADA again, and it worked!
This is to remind me to do this in the future when it stops working.
    Thank you.

I wonder if it was caused by ccleaner or AVG. Likely the last one.

Now I have the same non-communication problem after updating Libre Office yesterday. I decided to get AVG uninstalled. After many re-boots, I am still not able to communicate.
I am running Rapid SCADA on Windows 8.1, and I wonder if that OS is my problem. Can I run Rapid SCADA on Linuxmint 20? Is there a good chance that it will work better than Winblows 8.1?
It has started up by itself in the past, but I don’t hold any hope this time.

Most of Linux users install Rapid SCADA on Debian or Ubuntu. If you have no special Linux experience, Windows is easier. Windows 10 is preferred.

I can see that Linux is a tad harder, but I had Windows 10 for free when it first came out, and after reading reviews, decided to go back to 8.1.
Your Linux install instructions leave me stymied at the first step.
Installation of Rapid SCADA on Linux
    ————————————

    1. Copy all the files of Rapid SCADA Mono from the scada folder to /opt/scada

    2. Copy the scripts from the daemons folder to /etc/init.d

    3. Grant full access to the following folders of the Webstation application:

    sudo chmod -R ugo+rwx /opt/scada/ScadaWeb/config
    sudo chmod -R ugo+rwx /opt/scada/ScadaWeb/log
    sudo chmod -R ugo+rwx /opt/scada/ScadaWeb/storage

I can copy and paste files; however, I can find the folder /opt/ in the file system, but there is no “scada” folder in there.

Windows 8 has no future. To use with Rapid SCADA Windows 10 is better than 8.

but there is no “scada” folder in there

    You copy the scada directory.

You are right, Windows 8.1 sucks. So do all Windows renditions. The non communication problem that I had from Jan. 7 until today was caused by a Windows update. I used system restore today to make it all better.
    So, router is fine.
