    Is there a way to adjust how persistent the device connection is with the Rapid Scada Communicator? I am looking for a way to connect to a device only for requesting data and sending commands and then disconnect so that the SCADA server does not continuously occupy the port.

    Assuming you are using scada as TCP client type, goto the following settting,

    Communication Lines – Line Options – Main Options – Properties, uncheck the “stay connected” option

    And don’t forget to set the interval “Delay after pooling cycle”
