    Hi

Is it possible to communicate using DDE with an application?

Now, I have an application (with Wonderware Intouch) that interrogates my plcs via modbus tcp, and my Intouch obtain these values (associated with a tag ) via DDE.

or, Is it possible create a Kp for that?

    Thanks

It’s possible to creaate Kp, but can’t you poll the PLC in RapidScada for Modbus TCP? PLC should support multimaster over tcp/ip

    Hi,

Agree with the above. It’s possible to poll a Modbus TCP device by Rapid SCADA independently.

    Hi

Yes, I know that I can do that. But, I have some programas that centralize the communications.

For example, I have a program that connect with +50 stations via modbus tcp, modbus radio, modbus serie. Works fine, and I don’t want change it (if something works don’t change it). And I have other program (api in vb) that communicate with a server to obtain values from Microcom hardware (via Zeus web server). And my Intouch obtain values with DDE from all.
For me, is more simple mantain all programs and ask via dde.

How can I create a kp for that? (my knowledge is limited)

    Many thanks

    Hi,

DDE is not supported. You could use OPC UA in the same manner, a popular standard for industrial automation.

May be you should create a driver for Rapid SCADA v6 beta instead of v5.
