I’ve finally got around to working on my installation again since our training but I’ve found a small problem with the Call number field. It supports a maximum of 20 characters but I have a full IP address and port length of 21 characters in the format of: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx
Is it possible to change this in the software? I’ve also forgotten how to map signals to channel numbers but I may be able to copy this from the existing records.
The field length issue shall be fixed. But it tooks a time.
Are all of your devices have the same port?
In this case you can set “Remote TCP Port” of communication channel properties in SCADA-Communicator and omit port in SCADA-Administrator.
Every input channel has a Signal. Signal is an ID of a tag in SCADA-Communicator.
The complexity of increasing the field length is that the database structure becomes incompatible with the previous version. I’d prefer to include a fix in the next major version of Rapid SCADA, if a workaround exists.
That’s fine I can wait for the next release. I have shortened my port numbers for now so I am starting at 9501 instead of 10501.
I’m struggling to create channels and map signals at the moment as when I add new sites I’m messing up the values for the existing. I think another training session may be required just to cover that part.
