I am trying to virtualize an existing project to the latest version (amazingly now “free”) of VMWare workstation under Windows 10 Professional.
… installed the latest version of Rapid SCADA on the new virtual machine.
… uploaded the project directory contents of the existing Windows 10 Professional to the VM in the same directory structure.
…uploaded the existing project itself to Rapid SCADA using the “Administrator” application.
…disabled the original Rapid SCADA services on the same Windows 10 computer.
All Rapid SCADA services are now running under the new VM.
I can successfully login to the new Rapid SCADA VM with its bridged IP address using the standard TCP/IP port of 10008 [VM firewall rules are OFF].
Issues:
When running the Rapid SCADA “Administrator” application “Primary Tables/Users” configuration to change the admin password then –> [Apply Edit operation]
I receive no response, yet the “dirty” record asterisk is still displayed in the sub-application tab.
When I then attempt to close the “Users” windows and Rapid SCADA asks if I want to save the record, I receive the error “error saving the user table access is denied”.
Within the Windows 10 VM all file permissions are wide open for the entire Rapid SCADA project directory.
All services are running as the Windows “System” user.
An AI search suggested running the Rapid SCADA “Administrator Windows application” as the Windows 10 OS user “Administrator”, however, when I attempt that, the Rapid SCADA Administrator does nothing at all.
What am I missing???
Thank you Mikhail
