Can you make a screenshot of the tray icon area?

You don’t have a system tray that shows the clock, keyboard layout, network status, mixer status, battery, and so on.
You only have the Task Bar work area

You should click the small arrow to the left of the flag.
Then I expect you find SCADA-Server and Communicator icons. When you click an icon, an appropriate application is shown.

There aren’t any SCADA icons in the system tray. I clicked on customize and one SCADA application was listed. It is Communicator Control and was set to “notification only”. I changed it to “show icons and notifications” and then OK. However, it is still reluctant to show its icon.
You probably know that I can’t click on the arrow to expand the tray AND take a snip with the snipping tool.

Okay, I restarted Windows and the Communicator icon showed up!

So, today I clicked on Communicator in my Windows 8.1 Apps list and got a message that it was already running. There is no evidence of that. So far, I am stymied.

Cool! Now you can close application if you need, and you will not get a message that the app is already running.
