Hi Mikhail,
I’m now able to pull the data but I need to be able to pull certain points when SCADA receives a trigger from my PLC. This is to pull all data points from the PLC after each cycle is finished to attach that data to a part.
Other parameters, I need to pull only when there is a change, and other I need to see the value in real time as its moving.
Can the above be done?
In the administrator, I see in the “input properties” and “Events” section but not sure how to use.
March 23, 2017 at 6:04 am #2023MikhailModeratorHi,
Please could you provide an example?
What number of points (tags) is received every time and what number of tags depends on conditions?March 23, 2017 at 6:17 am #2024MikhailModeratorRequesting for partial set of tags it is not implemented by the current version of Rapid SCADA Modbus driver. This is a specific function. We can estimate custom development, but programming may be expensive.
If you describe the whole system, it helps to find out possible solutions.
March 23, 2017 at 12:26 pm #2025MikhailModeratorMay be you can split your PLC into several sets of tags. Each of the set is a separate device in Rapid SCADA database. In this case it is possible to send a command to request required subdevice.

Would I be able to have the “command to request” function triggered by an output signal from my PLC?
To give you a full understanding of what I’m trying to do, see below:
I have machines that do 3-12 parts/cycles per minute. The cycle rate changes from job to job so I need to pull certain data points at the end of each part/cylce to be able to attach that info to that part/cycle. I guess I need SCADA to monitor a discrete coil and when it comes on, pull a block data and log it as part1.

Yes. You need Automatic Control Module. Trial is available.
March 23, 2017 at 5:04 pm #2028MikhailModeratorYou have a time left to get a remote session )
March 23, 2017 at 5:55 pm #2029DigitalPressINCParticipantGreat! I’ll buy the “Automatic Control Module” today if I have time. Will you be available tomorrow around 3pm EST to help me install/test the new module via remote session?
Thanks again for all of your help.

Probably yes.
March 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm #2031DigitalPressINCParticipantOkay, Please message me on skype if you will be available. I’ll keep an eye on my skype account and if you give me the okay, I’ll download the auto control module closer to 3pm. Thanks.
